The V12 is the ONLY motherboard revision that requires the laser fix.

You either need to purchase that laser fix board, or you need to install that chip into another model console. The laser fix, corrects the voltage so that doesn't happen. If you DO NOT install the laser fix with your Modbo 5, you will fry the laser in your console within a few weeks, as the chip does not send the right voltage to the laser. When you buy a Modbo 4, it comes with a small 6 wire circuit board for installing the laser fix.
